“I am so proud of our community that stepped up and supported our initiative to make all of our school grounds tobacco free. The environment to attend ball games and school events is better because of the community’s willingness to refrain from tobacco use at these events….while we anticipated we would have run-ins with patrons that did not agree with the change, we had very little resistance to our tobacco-free school grounds initiative.”
- Dr. Michael M. Robinson, Superintendent Smyth County Public Schools
"I am thrilled that our School Board and members of the school communities have embraced the 100% tobacco-free schools as a team and have made it so much easier than any of us thought.
- Dr. Brenda Hess, Superintendent Russell County Schools
