Webinar Speakers

Bre is a high school senior at Powhatan High School in Powhatan, VA. She is an active member of Y Street, a youth-led program by the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth, where she advocates for policy change. As a part of the program’s Leadership Team, Bre meets with policymakers to influence policy change for issues surrounding obesity and tobacco prevention. Apart from her work with Y Street, Bre is also a member of her school’s National English Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society, and Swimming Team. Bre’s dedication is inspiring and sets an excellent example of a youth advocate and leader.

 

Christopher is a high school junior at Tallwood High School in Virginia Beach, VA. He is a passionate advocate for healthy living and a member of Y Street, a youth-led program by the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth. As a part of the program’s prestigious Leadership Team, Chris is a driving force behind policy change for issues surrounding obesity and tobacco use in his school and community. His dedication and hard work have made him a true inspiration to other young people as he strives to be a positive influence. With his sights set on the medical industry or neuroscience, Chris aims to continue making a difference.

 

Sarah is a high school senior from Hampton High School in Hampton, VA. She is a member of Y Street, a youth-led program by the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth, and serves on its Leadership Team. Sarah is a passionate advocate for her community and a role model for her peers. Through her work with Y Street, she strives to amplify the voices of Virginia’s youth and advocate for positive policy changes in her school and community. Sarah’s ultimate goal is to attend medical school and continue making a difference in the lives of others, serving as a beacon of hope for future generations.

Kylie is a junior at Grassfield High School in Chesapeake, VA. At the young age of 11, she founded her own business called “Blankets of Love,” which demonstrated her entrepreneurial spirit and drive. Kylie is an active member of her school community, serving on the School Planning Council and African American History Scholastic Bowl. She is also a lead anchor and director of GNEWs. As a dynamic member of Y Street, the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth’s statewide youth-led program, and its Leadership Team, Kylie is dedicated to promoting healthy behaviors and supportive environments, working towards the program’s overarching goal of creating a healthier Virginia.
