Healthy Communities

Where Virginians live, work and play affects their health. The way that communities are designed can promote or prevent access to healthy foods and physical activity for children and families. Communities can make strides to make the healthy choice the easy choice and prevent obesity. Healthy communities are created by parents, schools, healthcare providers, neighborhoods, business, and early childhood educators who help make the healthy choice the easy choice so that kids are more active, eat better and have improved opportunities to lead healthy lives.
